Mark always had had a good relationship with his sister Karmen. She had looked out for him while his parents had rarely bothered with either of them. In Mark's opinion, Karmen was close to perfect. She was beautiful, but not vain. She had a strong personality, but wasn't a bully. And she was also very smart, but not condescending. Only in terms of intelligence did Mark trump her, though that by quite a lot. Part of it was probably due to Karmen's encouragement. She always believed in him and supported him on the end and made sure he was aware of his mistakes on the other. Suffice to say, there was nobody Mark admired more than Karmen and nobody he'd rather see bonded to a symbiote.
As he entered her room, she turned around and smiled at him. That smile vanished once she saw how twitchy her brother was. "Mark, Is something wrong? You look incredibly nervous."
Mark held the container behind his back and shook his head. "Nope, I'm fine. It's only... You know how much you mean to me right, Karmen? That you are the best sister I could ask for and that I love you the way you are."
Karmen grinned and answered, "That's awfully sweet of you, but that means you've done something horrible and don't want our parents to find out. Am I right?"
"Not really." He held the container now in front of her. "You know how I always loved the Marvel symbiotes? This is one. I wondered who to give it to and, well, I can't think of a better person than you, sis."
Karmen's look grew sad and she said, "Oh Mark, just because you found some strange goo doesn't mean..." Just in that moment the purple goo started to move around inside the container, very much visible on the outside. "Okay, that isn't normal goo, is it, Mark?"
"Nope, sis." And Mark explained to her where he found it and what he did.
"You actually changed its DNA? I always knew that my lil bro was smart, but that you are THIS smart. Just wow!" Karmen exclaimed after the explanation. "So, it's like Spider-Man's black suit in the movie right?"
"I don't know details, haven't tried it on another human before. As far as I can tell it's more aggressive than the movie version."
"That means?" Karmen sounded very nervous.
"Think less Peter's costume and more the Venom character." Mark said with a tortured grin. He really wanted her to try it, but wouldn't force her.
