Ellen looks at the clock besides her bed.
It’s 04:00 AM. Was it all a dream? Did she just dream about Fiona putting on
the mask? Ellen sighs, that is a huge relief. She turns around and tries to get
some sleep, but Ellen can’t sleep anymore. Her thoughts are with the mask. She
thinks about her dream. Was it true that the mask could grant it’s wearer that
much power?
Ellen finally falls asleep and wakes up in the morning. She walks downstairs to
greet her parents and get some breakfast. Later that day, in the evening..
Ellen: Good morning mom, good morning dad!
Paul: Good morning sweetheart. Your mother and I are going to the mall today?
Do you want to join us? Your brother already went to the city with his friends
to watch a football game.
Ellen: Uuuhm.. No thank you. I don’t feel very well.
Anne: You aren’t sick, aren’t you darling?
Ellen: No, no mom. Just a little tired. I will get some more sleep today.
Anne: Alright. We will live within a few minutes. Take care darling!
Ellen: Thank you mom. Have fun today. You too dad!
Ellen walks upstairs and enters her room. She sits on the edge of her bed and
waits for her parents to leave. When Ellen hears the front door closing, she
runs upstairs to her parents’ room. The door of the closet is slightly open and
Ellen opens it a bit further. There she sees the box with the football
stickers. She lifts the lid of the box and starts to search for the mask. At
the bottom of the box Ellen feels a solid wooden object. She grabs it and pulls
it out of the box. It’s the mask!
Ellen: How is it possible? It’s exactly the same place as it was in my dream..
Ellen grabs the lid and puts it on the box. After that she walks downstairs to
her room with the mask in her hand. Ellen sits on the edge of her bed and looks
at the mask in her hand. She saw what it did with her mother. In her dream it
gave Fiona godlike power. Could it give her that kind of power? At the inside
of the mask, there was no green shimmering notable. Ellen rotates the mask, but
the green shimmering isn’t there. She hesitates, but the power is calling her.
She moves the mask slowly to her face. Until it’s a few centimetres away..
Ellen looks again, but there is still no green shimmering. With one pull she
puts the mask on her face and waits for the mask to attach to her face and provide
her of ultimate power. But nothing happens, the mask doesn’t attach to her face
and it stays a piece of wood. Ellen pulls the mask away from her face and looks
at it.
Ellen: Stupid mask! Why don’t you just attach yourself to my face? Must have
been broken during the time in that box.
Ellen throws the mask on her bed and walks downstairs to watch a movie on the
television in the living room.
