With a quick step, Q-Pid was standing in front of the Wayne Enterprises building in New York City. Despite the building hosting a fund raiser for that mutant school, none of them were the target. Tim Drake was standing next to Stephanie Brown, next to them were Cassandra Caine, Richard Greyson and Barbara Gordon. His instructions were clear, the clown wanted chaos in Gotham. With another quick step Q-Pid was waiting in just the right spot. Tim held open the door and Steph walked past, as Cass passed she looked at Tim to say thank you… Q-Pid pulled off two shots, one in her ass and one in his neck. Both young adults felt the world explode around them looking into each other’s eyes.
“Keep moving,” Dick said from behind the wheel chair.
Both young adults snapped out of it and Cass moved forward only to then look back at the love of her life. That one was almost too easy. With another quick step Q-Pid moved again lining up his next shots. Steph looked back at her mentor and the first Boy Wonder… She was the flash too late, she was struck in the head and Dick was struck in the back and both of them locked eyes…Q-Pid crossed the names off his list, it was a job… he still was sure how this would “Twist that bat’s cape right into a turban!” but he was getting paid to do it.
