Panting weakly, Mephisto gestured at Johnny. “I know how I can be made strong again. We must…trap the goodness that poisons me…in the mirror. Hellcat returned to Mephisto with the mirror shard, its edge now bright with fresh blood. Smiling savagely, the Hell Lord rose to his feet, grasped the shard of glass and moved to the mirror, incanting in his low growling voice. He held up the piece of mirror and there was a red flash, then the other shards leapt from the floor and re-formed into the reflective surface, spider cracks glowing red briefly, and then were gone, leaving a perfect reflection of Mephisto, grinning with triumph.
He made some more eldritch incantations and a vague bluish mist seemed to rise from his body, and drift into the mirror. He immediately let out a long breath and raised himself up to his full height again. “Aaaaahhh! Cured at last! This puppet fool has served me well, and should be rewarded. Then, I will avenge myself on that accursed meddler, Hellstrom!!”

Back in Dr Strange’s inner sanctum, Strange mastered his will, suppressed his arousal and spoke to Sue. “I think that the three of us should enter the astral plane. In our astral forms, we may be able to trace the dark mystical energies that are focused on you to their source. Stand between us Sue, and take our hands.”
