Pressing the button on the remote there was a light hum in the air, a wave arced through the vast yard, enveloping the entire area. Almost immediately the results could be seen on the X-Men themselves as Beast’s blue hair disappeared, every X-Man shivered as their powers were taken away, their X gene deactivated leaving them all essentially human.
Further up the lawn the five Avengers looked at the small vibrating devices on the grass and felt a slight tingling course through their bodies. Looking down they found their fur slowly receding, the claws on their hands and feet losing their edge and retracting back. "Hey I think it’s working, McCoy you’re a genius!" Feeling their height decrees, shrinking back down a few feet it seemed like "FINALLY!" Sighed Captain America seeing his tail disappear behind him all while he continued to shrink. "This catastrophe’s finally over."
Then suddenly it wasn’t…
All five gasped as their hearts began booming in their chests, their teeth gritting tight when their muscles began bulging. With every booming beat of their hearts their changes returned with a vengeance, the experience both painful and taxing while they reverted back to the massive creatures they were… And kept right on growing. "Wha-what’s happening?!" Doubling over She-Hulk felt her arms and legs throb, her tail growing longer and heavier with bulk while sharp spines began jutting out of her back, a pair of horns poking through her green shaggy hair to curve behind her scalp.
Captain America and Iron Man fell to their knees, clutching their heads while horns of their own began developing under their hairline. With a crunch they arched their backs, spines jutting out and lining down to their tails. Awe jeez! Turn it off already!!!"
Hank McCoy scrambled to try and deactivate the gene inhibitors, swatting the remote when it refused to switch them off. Looking up he and the others grimaced when they caught the Avengers growing past the size they arrived as.
Miss Marvel panted in exertion, feeling like she’d been running for miles even on her hands and knees. "Something’s happening…" Reaching behind her and clawing at her own shoulder blades a pair of bulges formed between the lines of sharp spines running down her back, with a panicked yelp a pair of wings sprouted out behind her, stretching out slowing to give the leathery membranes breath before flapping out and folding up behind her.
Natasha was on her back, clutching her sides where bulges were forming under her arms. Gritting her teeth with a moan a second pair of arms began growing out from under her original ones, followed by a third pair after those. Black Widow now had six claws gripping the ground and her head once her horns came out, squeezed her eyes shut from the whole experience even as she grew bigger.
"FOR MERCY’S SAKE! HELP THEM!"
Running over to the machines on the ground Hank McCoy grabbed hold of all the power cords and pulled them all out of the inhibitors, the hum of energy stopping right then and there and Beast’s blue fur snapped back over his body. "Finally… Are you all alright?"
Breathing slowly and laying still on the grass underneath the five Avengers had grown to over 30 feet tall, looking more like furry dinosaur men then the human heroes they were recognized as. Slowly getting up with dazed heavy heads the X-Men took a step back when Iron Man said only one word.
"Hungry…"
