With a flash of lightning, a shadow appeared on the wall of a busted up brick building. The shadow shrank as it moved from the alley and toward street lights, until it disappeared completely. For a short time, nobody would have known the shadow even existed. Then, the street light flickered out, and a second later, changed into a soft blue light.

This wasn't exactly true. To the normal human eye, the light was blue. To a being like the shadow, it had one of the impossible colors, and it invisibly took form within that impossible color. Another split second later, and the light flashed out and on again to reveal... STAN LEE?!

"Excelsior!" the entity said, before shapeshifting into its true form as a relatively small young man with glasses. He walked down the sidewalk, until he came across a window with a row of stereotypical, perfectly lined up TVs all showing the same program. He tsked at what he saw.

The live news reel of the heroes and villains was nowhere near accurate. The people fighting on the teams and with each other were wrong, for one thing. He had escaped the destruction of his home dimension, and all he got was the lousy T-shirt he made for himself.

That's when he looked down in realization. "Hey, wait a minute..." With a snap of his finger, his shirt went from blue to green.

The entity grinned. Looking back at the TV, he concentrated on the blonde, snapped his fingers and watched as one Sue Storm went from a long-haired, fully contoured white bodysuit to the sleazy hooker uniform style she was supposed to have in order to correctly match his own world. The white thighhighs boots, white gloves to her biceps, the cutout on her abs and boob window 4 on her leotard came to life, and Sue's long golden hair became a short and wavy dirty blonde to ensure it did not conceal her assets.

That was it. With his power, the man could fix the glaringly obvious errors in characters, their relationships, their equipment, the works. By the time he was done, everything would be exactly the way it was always meant to be.

"Wait. I need a new name here, don't I?" The man resolved. He snapped his finger again at his Eureka moment. "Got it. Rebooter sounds about right. Out with the old, fake world and in with the real one."

And so, the man set off on his journey, and he knew just where to start.
