They choose Wonder Woman to try out the ray on. Unfortunately instead of using the ray on her from behind they do it from in front of her. Of course with Wonder Woman's fast reflexes she uses her bracelets to deflect the ray. Unfortunately for her the ray still has a partial affect on her. It is!
Now if you're thinking about the bad guys. Well when WW deflected some of the ray the part reflected returned to the ray-gun which caused it to blow up. OOPs now we need some more bad guys.
