Superman stared at the ring.  He had thought it a Lantern ring at first, that he had been chosen for the Sinestro Corps.  (An unpleasant thought, but he accepted that his powers did make him quite fearsome.)  He was pleased when he realized it wasn't, though.  

    He was mildly alarmed when he read the note attached the ring, explaining its powers.  

    "Such a tremendous power..." he said softly.  

    He understood the implications of the ring immediately.  With it, he could literally remake the world in his image.  Everything he said would become the Truth.  He could eliminate crime, help out all his friends.  Imagine a Gotham where Batman's Rogues Gallery worked alongside him to protect the city.  Or a universe where the nine Lantern Corps were all aligned, Rage, Greed, Fear, Willpower, Hope, Compassion, Love, Life, and Death all working in concert.  

    And then there was the temptation to abuse it.  He could easily set himself up as ruler of the world, the Justice League his imperial council.  After all, with the ring, the word of Superman could easily be Holy Truth, would it not?

    So tempting...

    Maybe... Maybe he should take the Ring to Batman, get him to analyze it.  Or take it to the Guardians.  

    But he could do so much good if he put the ring on...
