The Wicked Witch Tome is a magical book that was once said to originate from a far off land where two sisters were seduced by it’s power, or instrumental in it’s creation; the legends differ.    Nevertheless, whether by it’s own violation or the machinations of the sisters or some other method of summoning it has found it’s way out of that world and in to others.

It is bound in some unknown black leather, and it’s pages whisper to draw others towards it.  Users of other magic are particularly vulnerable to it’s lure.

The tome is a lexicon of dark spells that give the user control of form itself.  It emphasizes transformation and weather control and craves hosts to spread it’s dark corruption.  Those that read it are seduced by it’s power and compelled to cast it’s black magics.  Once they have started, it is unlikely they will be able to stop till it has finished it’s dark work.

The book was created to corrupt the feminine spirit, and those that share that, as most women do, can read and understand the book at first glance as it’s power takes it’s first hold.  The masculine can only understand the book if they are already in tune with the supernatural world, and the Witch’s book’s transformation quickly remedies their gender differences.

Those that use the book are slowly changed in to Wicked greenish skinned warty hag-like sorceresses.  Their nose and chin grow long, and their fingers grow sharp while their teeth yellow.  They become revolting creatures as they can’t resist trading beauty for power; near the end most are eager to do so.  They are drawn to dark clothing, wide brimmed hats, and the trappings of the wicked witches, such as their broomsticks.

Once the book has created it’s newly minted wicked witch (a creature entirely different from a true witch that is in tune with the forces of nature), it’s knowledge is completely absorbed by the witch, giving her no more need of it.  It can then be passed on by the wicked witch to another.  It can be shared among two or more as well, and will stay until it has finished it’s work on all of them.

Wicked witches are often drawn together into dark covens, their powers enhanced in close proximity to each other; they are however spiteful and jealous creatures meaning often they can only stand each other’s company so long.  However such gatherings often have a profound effect on the environment, causing trees and wood to warp and grow twisted and perhaps even slightly sentient.  Other plants often wither and die in the presence of such concentrations of corruption.

Even those immune to the book’s seduction often do not escape it’s power, as it’s servants, the wicked witches find new and inventive transformations for former allies and foes alike.  Many end up as monsters, sex slaves, animal familiars, or some combination of all three; whatever strikes their particular fancy.

It is possible however, with such a powerful tome that it’s corruptive transformations may create some new variety of witch, but it is unlikely.  The tome has never before created a Warlock; though it may not be impossible for it.
