The sun was setting over the small Southern town of Cutter Creek.  It was a typical small town in the Southern United States, that had happened to have seen a recent string of success, as well as a rise in the birthrate due to new families starting their new lives there.  On the outside, everything seemed perfect but the peaceful tranquility hid a deep, dark secret.  In a large house on top of a hill, five men that managed the dark secret sat in a spacious sun room wrapped up in heated debate.

"You knew the risk of what could happen when we agreed to perform our little procedure on her, Bobby Ray!  No time to get cold feet now that's it's done," the leader of the group spoke, holding a glass of bourbon in his hand.  He was the Mayor of the town of Cutter Creek, and had organized this little group to manage the extremely controversial and unconventional 'procedure' as it had been called that had brought the town such good fortune in recent years.

"Well, when her big sistah and her friends comes-ah knockin', I'll be sure tah direct her to your house," the portly Bobby Ray spoke, his face red and glazed with sweat, "Then you can explain what we do here.  What we did to her lil' sistah.  I'm sure it'll sit well with her."

"Ooooeeee," a third man said, as he shuffled a toothpick around his thin lips.  He was a tad older than the leader of the group, was tall and thin and wore a Stetson on top of his head.  He was a quiet sort, so when he spoke, all attention turned to him.  He looked at each man in the room and said, "If'n she gonna be madder than a wet hen!"

"See," Bobby Ray huffed, pointing at the thin man, "McGraw gets it!  An' he's the damn sheriff of Cuttah Creek!"

"Settle down.  Yer gonna give yourself a heart attack," the thin man known as McGraw spoke, "I am the sheriff of Cutter Creek and I'm gonna make sure our town is ready for whatever comes.  An' yer gonna help me, isn't that right, Doc?"

A forth man in the room looked like he was shaken from deep thought by the sudden mention of his title in the small community of Cutter Creek.  He was the youngest of them all, around the age of thirty, and looked the least 'country' of them all.  He wore a finely pressed brown suit and a light blue dress shirt under it with the top few buttons unbuttoned.  His longer brown hair was slicked back, and he looked and felt out of place with these older men.  He almost looked surprised to be addressed by the other men in the room, and when the Sheriff of the town glared at him, the young doctor stammered, "What?  Um, yes.  We will be, ah, ready for anything."

"Good boy!" The Mayor exclaimed, rising his half-full glass at the doctor.  He then looked down as his phone chimed and he held it up, after taking a long swig of his glass, "Just got a text from Tammy Sue.  They're both on their way!"

"This is truly joyous, gentlemen!" The final man in the room said, as he rocked gently back and forth on a rocking chair with his hands folded serenely on his lap.  He was the oldest of them all and wore the collar of a man of the clergy and had a kindly smile on his aged face, "It is as the good book says, 'Behold, how good and pleasant is is when brothers dwell in unity."

"We'll all be dwellin' in the deepest, darkest prison cells if'n that Big Blue Boy Scout evah catches wind o' this here," Bobby Ray groaned, "An' I assure you, we'll all be unified in such a predicament!  Sharin' lil' cells on the block."

"I've spoken to the new girl countless times in confession, Mr. Knox," the Reverend countered, his voice never leaving its calm tone, "She's assured me that if anyone ever comes to find her it will be her sister and her sister alone.  It's an Amazon thing, apparently.  Wonder Woman is the Amazon's champion, or something along those lines, and is charged with handling all things 'Man's world.'  Nonsense, of course, but we can believe her.  She's now a simple-minded Cutter Creek girl through and through.  She couldn't lie to us if we ordered her to.  I've talked to and tested all of the girls before they took their rightful place in our community, and Donna has passed."

"You're not going to act like this when she arrives, Bobby Ray?" the Mayor said, his brow wrinkled with sudden worry.  The large man did promise that he would behave and not 'set her off' as he called it, but it wasn't the most reassuring thing the Mayor had ever heard.  However, there wasn't much more he could beyond his warning, so he simply shrugged his shoulders in exasperation with weary look that only the Sheriff noticed.

The talk went on for some time, but now the unease in the room had died down somewhat.  Small-talk had overtaken serious conversation, since each man said what they needed to say.  They were really all waiting on pins and needles to see what Tammy Sue, who ran the town's beauty parlor and spa, had done with the former Amazon.  The tension began to rise once more with the men's anticipation, but it was suddenly cut by a soft knock at the door.  The Mayor, unable to hold back the excited smile on his face, called for whoever it was to enter.
